Run Mac OS X Widgets on your iPhone, almost...
|
The Apple iPhone has certainly expanded its functionality in its first couple of months on the market, largely with no thanks to Steve Jobs and Cupertino itself. Leave it up to the Apple enthusiasts of the interwebs to give us more to play with. Well, Erica from the Unofficial Apple Weblog has managed to place OS X Dashboard widgets on her iPhone and she is nice enough to share the instructions with the rest of us.
Unfortunately, not all OS X widgets are working on the iPhone. Erica got some apps like Weather, ESPN, and Calendar to work perfectly, but others aren't so lucky. It's a step in the right direction, though, so it's probably only a matter of time before someone manages to find a way around those problems.
At this time, the basic steps are to upload the widgets.app, copy a support folder from your computer, and then copy each widget manually.
